The industrial research project PUEXential (Power Usage Effectiveness – Energy Network Traffic Interaction Analysis Learning), proposed by Microtel Innovation S.r.l., a company within the Cinetix Group, and partially funded by the Provincial Law 6/99 on business incentives (L.P. 6/99) of the Autonomous Province of Trento, has recently been successfully completed.

The project aimed to study and develop an innovative system for monitoring the electricity consumption of Data Center infrastructures (Enterprise Data Centers, Hyperscale Data Centers, Multi-Tenant/Colocation Data Centers, Edge Data Centers, and cloud environments), correlating it with the distribution and type of network traffic through advanced data analysis and machine learning techniques.

This initiative is part of a long-standing collaboration between the Cinetix Group and  the Provincia Autonoma di Trento, supporting technological research projects and promoting innovation and skills development in the region. With PUEXential, Microtel Innovation has developed advanced tools for data center energy efficiency, a topic of growing importance for digital transformation and the sustainability of IT infrastructures.

The project also reinforces the Cinetix Group’s commitment to innovative solutions and cutting-edge approaches, with research and development as a core element of the group’s strategy, driving experimentation, new skills, and technologies capable of addressing emerging sector challenges.
