POWERGUARD: REMOTE MONITORING FOR UNATTENDED TECHNOLOGICAL SYSTEMS
PowerGuard is a solution designed to remotely monitor technological systems, with particular effectiveness in unattended environments. It is part of Cinetix’s Energy Visibility solutions, which, through centralized and real-time control, provide information on power supply status and energy consumption. This enables efficiency optimization, waste reduction, and overall improvement of energy management.
The system automatically detects power interruptions and can accurately determine whether the outage is due to a public grid failure or a local anomaly, such as a tripped meter or the activation of protection devices.
Technical interventions only when necessary
This feature allows interventions only when the cause is internal, avoiding unnecessary actions: technical personnel intervene only in the event of actual faults, eliminating superfluous inspections and optimizing time and resources. PowerGuard is particularly suitable for use in street cabinets, radio base stations (RBS/BTS), service structures such as pay parking systems or automatic distribution equipment.
This approach makes it possible to achieve significant operational savings, proportional to the number of sites managed and the complexity of reaching them, improving the overall efficiency of maintenance activities.
Wireless architecture for simplified installations
The system is based on a non-intrusive sensor, a communication gateway, and a centralized application for alarm management. The NIVD-2340 (Non-Intrusive Voltage Detector) sensor is self-powered thanks to energy harvesting technology.
The NIVD-2340 can be installed without cutting the power cable; it automatically detects interruptions caused by power outages or meter tripping and sends alerts to the GW-204 gateway.
The GW-204 gateway communicates via radio with the NIVD-2340 sensors and transmits information to the application through LTE or EGPRS, using IP/UDP, HTTP(S), MQTT(S) protocols and SMS messaging. It is available in -48Vdc or 230Vac power supply versions, includes a rechargeable internal battery, and supports OTA (Firmware Upgrade Over-The-Air).
Easy integration and flexible configuration
The centralized application receives events from the field and integrates them into existing OSS systems, ensuring operational compatibility without structural changes. PowerGuard easily adapts to heterogeneous plant configurations, thanks to the possibility of associating multiple sensors with a single gateway and the system’s ability to operate in environments with wide temperature ranges and high humidity levels.
Service interruption is not required during installation, and configuration is performed through the simple dedicated app, reducing implementation time and costs, making the solution suitable for a wide range of contexts.
PowerGuard represents a reliable and scalable solution for those seeking continuous and intelligent monitoring of electrical power supply in their systems.
