POWERGUARD: SUPERVISION OF DISTRIBUTED AND UNATTENDED SYSTEMS
Operational efficiency in the supervision of distributed and unattended systems is now demonstrated through the large-scale adoption of PowerGuard by a leading national service provider. The solution enables monitoring of power supply interruptions and precise identification of their origin, distinguishing between utility supply failure and tripping of the meter or protection switches.
The solution is currently active across 1500 sites distributed throughout Italy. The adoption of PowerGuard has enabled more efficient maintenance management, reducing unnecessary field activities, optimizing operational costs, and delivering documented ROI within the first two years of operation.
The solution: PowerGuard by Cinetix
PowerGuard was developed by Research and Development department of Cinetix, in line with the group’s strategy focused on technological innovation. The system is part of the internally developed Energy Visibility concept for the supervision and diagnosis of energy assets in telecom infrastructures, FTTC cabinets, data centers, radio base stations, automated parking systems, and self-service systems.
Non-intrusive monitoring technology innovation
The PowerGuard architecture is designed for fast and non-intrusive installation, without service interruption. The system is based on the NIVD-2340 sensor (Non Intrusive Voltage Detector) for monitoring 230 VAC power supply, self-powered through energy harvesting technology and operating in a temperature range from -20 °C to +65 °C. GW-204 wireless gateway manages data collection and transmission from sensors through 868 MHz communication, with SIM-based connectivity and DFOTA support for remote management.
